The Basement

THE BASEMENT
((( the narrator )))
Once upon a time
There lived a beautiful maiden
She was locked in a basement
Her parents kept her hidden
From the world outside
Then came spring break vacation
The town was filled with suspicion
'Cause the young girl'd been missing
Since the winter break had ended
And she couldn't be found
They broke down the basement door
And what did they see?
She was still
The most beautiful girl that could be
37 years later
A boy appeared out of nowhere
Having no recollection
Of how he came to be there
But he continued to roam
He wandered into a forest
He walked for hours, then finally
He discovered a clearing
Her house stood right before him
And he decided to stay
He broke down the basement door
And what did he find?
The perfect place for him
To clarify the void in his mind
Late that night he was dreaming
About a life on a spaceship
He remembered a long trip
Through a cold dark distant landscape
In the Heavens above
But then a sound in the corner
Awoke the boy from his slumber
The room filled with thunder
The girl stepped from the darkness
And told the boy of her past
She broke down and cried
He held her so very tight
She cried for hours and he held her
'Til the end of the night...
The boy awoke in the morning
His arms were suddenly empty
He must have been dreaming
Or did it truly happen?
Was the girl ever there?
She had spoken with heartache
About a life that was taken
And what it might have been
If her parents released her
If the town acted sooner
If her will was to live
Then she would still be alive
They broke down the basement door
And what did they see?
She was still the most
Beautiful girl that could be

Out Of The Past

OUT OF THE PAST
((( the boy )))
The basement's empty
But the memory remains
Of a young girl who was left alone
For 86 days
In a room without light
A prison with the absence of sight
The sunlight shines through
The broken basement door
And I glance around the brightened room
And wander the floor
There's a bed on the ground
The mattress where her body was found
She slept alone on that bed
All through the night
And she awoke just the same
The dirty sheets are stained red
From her suicide
She said Alone was her name
The indentation of her shape on the bed
Was a cradle for her body
When they found her there dead
Near a small jagged stone
An object sharp enough to murder Alone
She died before the opposition of age
Just a young beautiful maiden
In an underground cage
But she took her own life
Before the town could put an end
To her strife
She slept alone on that bed
All through the night
And she awoke just the same
The dirty sheets are stained red
From her suicide
She said Alone was her name
She came to visit
And she cried on my shoulder
Her life was cut short
She was 16 years old
Although the world isn't right
I hope her spirit comes to visit tonight
A boy from outer space
A girl named Alone
We're a true match made in Heaven
We're an etching in stone
But she didn't survive
Can there be love between
The dead and alive?
I must be out of my head to fall in love
With someone out of the past
An angel back from the dead
And me from above
Could such a love affair last?

Fallen In Love

FALLEN IN LOVE
((( the narrator )))
That night he waits for her
And soon he falls asleep
The basement radiates with light
Again the girl appears
And takes his hand in hers
He finds no reason left to fight
The mental friction
She told the boy:
"I think I've fallen in love"
He said:
"I'm feeling just the same
'Cause you're an angel
Cast from Heaven above
And I'm a boy from outer space"
She told the boy:
"It's just a chance we should take
Before seclusion drives us mad”
He told the girl:
"I think I've fallen in love
And it's the hardest fall I've had"
The morning sun awakes
The boy with empty arms
He only sees her fast asleep
He knows she's real
He's seen her gravestone in the yard
He knows in love he's fallen deep
He told the girl:
"I think I've fallen in love
But I don't think that I can stay
I'm just a stranger
Crashed from Heavens above
I didn’t plan my life this way”
She told the boy:
"I think you've made a mistake
You can't deny the love we've found"
He told the girl:
"I think I'll love you forever
But I'm going overground"
She said: "Be patient"
He said: "Why should I wait?"
She said: "Don't turn your back on fate"
He should have listened

Someday I'll Return
04:00
|
|||
SOMEDAY I'LL RETURN
((( the boy )))
I step outside
The sunlight pierces through the trees
A cool blown wind climbs through the air
Blue sky stands high above me
How can I return?
My spaceship was destroyed
Beyond repair
Why did I venture?
Looking for some peace of mind
I lost direction inside space
But somewhere somehow sometime
Someday I'll return
This world just makes me
Feel so out of place
I took a spacetrip
And I crashed into this sphere
Nature is lovely
But humanity is much to fear
I fell asleep last night
I dreamt of something new
Now there's a feeling inside
I don't know what I'm going through
Two people lost in space
In love, I've fallen hard
I met a girl from out of the past
She died alone
Her name the same as her last fear
The patience of her heart
Just couldn't last
I cannot risk to be abandoned like her life
I seek a safer kind of love
But somewhere somehow sometime
Someday I'll return
To reunite with that someone from above
I made a decision
To step out and walk away
Why is she dead?
I wonder why her parents went insane
I fell asleep last night
I dreamt of something true
But there's a feeling inside me
I don't know what I should
And shouldn't do
Fresh air revives my body
I'll take a breath of fresh air
Sunlight is shining softly
It warms the fear of despair
Fresh air revives my body
I'll take a breath of fresh air
Sunlight is shining bright
It warms the fear of cold despair

That Summer

THAT SUMMER
((( the narrator )))
He left Alone one lonely day
He woke up with two empty arms
And he walked away
He went to town with hopes and dreams
He fell down on his knees
Beneath the summer beams
The clear blue sky seemed so far away
The town seemed kind and friendly
So he thought he'd stay
He walked around on grass so green
And thought about
His tragic spirit beauty queen
He left a note upon the bed
The note was very sad
It said:
"I love you, and all the stars above you
I'll miss you, I hope again to kiss you
I'm sorry, I pray that you'll forgive me
I've left you, but I'll never forget you"
In the meantime the girl appeared
She read the note left on the bed
With forming tears
She cried for hours as morning neared
Then in a sudden flash of light
She disappeared
She read the note left on the bed
The note was very sad
It said:
"I love you, and all the stars above you
I'll miss you, I hope again to kiss you
I'm sorry, I pray that you'll forgive me
I've left you, but I'll never forget you"
That summer,
He left Alone

Letters Faded

LETTERS FADED
((( the narrator )))
The sun went down
And the wind blew cold
When the forest trees
Watched a life unfold
The girl walked through
The broken basement door
And she ventured out
Along the forest floor
Until she came to find
A stone of sad remind
But not the sharp stone blade
A grave with letters faded
And it said her name
And her living years
And the word Goodbye
Alone was brought to tears
But then a piercing light
Came down from above
And it struck the girl
Again she fell in love
With what she long hadn’t known
Since the small jagged stone
But now the girl was alive
A self-proclaiming survivor
And she went to town
Wth a beating heart
And the boy returned
'Cause his was torn apart
And she soon forgot
About her feelings for
The boy from outer space
The broken basement door
An exit left before
But could the girl be gone?
Strange footsteps on the lawn
The girl is happy now
With her newfound health
And she loves to feel
The pulse within herself
Her blood can bleed like his
But his will bleed instead
'Cause she survived her death
But his is up ahead
Unless he reconciles
Over countless miles
Should have come back before
She left the basement door
She left the basement-

Never Seen Her Awake

NEVER SEEN HER AWAKE
((( the boy )))
I only slept for an hour before I woke up
I've got a case of infatuation insomnia
I need the girl of my dreams
To help me get through the night
I've been so selfish
But now I finally see the light
She was the most wonderful thing
That ever happened to me
But I refused to accept falling in love
Because she only lived in my dreams
I went back to the basement
My decision was wrong
I knew the girl had returned
Because my letter was gone
My only hope is that
She will return once again
And maybe once and for all
This empty feeling will end
'Cause I need a break from loneliness
To build up unconscious power
Can't find the comfort in sleep
Though I try
But I can only sleep for an hour
I went back to the town
After a couple of days
Alone refused to return
After she wandered away
I see a girl that resembles my love
She draws near
I realize that Alone is alive with me here
Don't tell me I'm still dreaming
Already woke up today
But before me is someone so lovely
I've never seen her awake
Don't tell me that I'm still dreaming
(don't tell me)
Already woke up today
But before me is someone so lovely
I-
I've never seen her-
I've never seen her awake

WANT
((( the boy )))
I want to take you for
A ride through outer space
I want to spend my whole life
Staring at your face
I want to fly with you
Into the clouds above
I want to share with you
The things that you dream of
'Cause I'm deep in love with you
And I want to tell you so
'Cause you're all I'll ever need
And I want to let you know
I want to hear you say
You'll stay with me for good
I'd want to leave for space
Tomorrow if we could
I want to fix my spaceship
But I don't know how
I want you here with me
C'mere, where are you now?
'Cause I'm deep in love with you
And I want to tell you so
'Cause you're all I’ll ever need
And I just want to let you know

Along The River

ALONG THE RIVER
((( the boy )))
Well there must be something better
Yeah there must be something free
God there must be some
Free better life for me
When I crashed into this planet
I was feeling so lonely
Until I slept
That’s when I met the girl for me
Unfortunately
She died alone inside a prison
Made of stone
She died alone inside the basement
Down below
She died alone inside a prison
Made of stone
She died alone inside the basement
Inside the basement
Though her spirit was a beauty
I did not give her a chance
I needed flesh and blood to mesh
With my existence
But flesh and blood she is now
Now she won’t give me a chance
She’s still upset
I up and left a virgining romance
The name Alone no longer suits her
She isn’t lonely anymore among the living
No no no
The name Alone no longer suits her
She isn’t lonely anymore among the living
Among the living
She’s as beautiful as ever
Now that blood flows through her veins
It’s sad that she won’t be with me
Because I caused her so much pain
So she told me just to leave her
Alone again for good
I hope someday again she’ll stay with me
I wish she would
I walked alone along the river going home
I walked alone along the river
A lonely road
I walked alone along the river going home
I walked alone along the river
Along the river

ALONE
((( the boy )))
Sometimes I lay upon the lawn
And ask the Heavens why you're gone
It's hard to tell when they reply
'Cause there's no voice box in the sky
Please don't leave me alone
I can't survive without you
Please don’t leave me, Alone
I'm gonna die without you
I wander aimlessly at night
Beneath the glow of the moonlight
I ponder life's great mysteries
And ask for guidance from the trees
Yeah yeah
Please don't leave me alone
I can't survive without you
Please don't leave me, Alone
I'm gonna die without you
You tell me that it hurts to say goodbye
But then you leave my heart alone to die
I feel you when I open up the door
But I can't seem to face you anymore
We pass beneath
The sun that lights the day
You tell me that you're happier this way
But every time I look into your eyes
I see desolation in disguise, yeah
'Cause love is bold but you're so cold
You never even gave me a chance
But I know I could never treat you wrong
And yeah baby I know that
You'll miss me when I’m gone
Someday you will awake and see the light
And suddenly you'll realize what's right
Until that morning comes around
(around round and round around)
I think I'm gonna crawl back underground
Yeah yeah yeah...
Countless days have passed me by
And still I cannot say goodbye
But even though
You've left me here, Alone
The dirt has stories darker than my own
Please don't leave me alone
I can't survive without you
Please don't leave me, Alone
I'm gonna die without you

OUT OF PLACE
((( the boy )))
I stepped out this morning
With a teardrop in my eye
I walked over to the stone grave
Where she was buried when she died
She killed her body but her spirit lived
Then her body came back too
She wouldn't take me back
She said:
"For what you did I still hate you"
Could you help me find my way home?
'Cause I don’t know which way to roam
And I feel so out of place
I just wanna get back to outer space
Yeah yeah
Her lonely spirit roamed for 37 years
She cried so many times a day
It made her kisses taste like tears
I never knew the meaning of sadness
Until I met this girl
And now I hate most everything
In this violent world
Could you help me find my way home
'Cause I don’t know which way to roam
And I feel so out of place
I just wanna get back to outer space
Yeah yeah
Don't ever try to understand the way I feel
Don't ever try to claim
Possession of what you steal

SLEEP
((( the boy )))
When I get some sleep
I pray to God that I start dreaming
Because reality is a place
That I don't mind leaving
Stay away from me
Or I swear that I'll start screaming
Because my bough is breaking
And my cradle will fall
I awoke one night
On a cold dark distant highway
I was walking somewhere
Somehow sometime someday
I could not recall
The reason for my dismay
But my bough was breaking
Found a place to sleep
In a secluded forest basement
I was sleeping softly soundly
Then suddenly the floor went... (BOOM!)
A girl appeared
She was tattered and torn
But she was Heaven sent
I had a sudden feeling
That my cradle would fall, fall
Fall, fall
I tried to leave her there
I told myself that I would never forget
And soon enough I went back to her
But it was too late
She had left the basement
Then I found her living, breathing
She was wonderful, happy not grieving
But she could not
Forgive my abandonment
She'll be sorry
Self-inflicted punishment kills
((( the narrator )))
He should have waited
For the spaceship to come
To take him back to where
He ventured out from
A rescue mission
From the place of his birth
It came to save him
From the sadness on Earth
It's too late
He went to sleep at last
(it's too late)
(he went to)
(sleep at last)
