Robe

ROBE
((( Robert )))
It all started at the grocery store
I walked quickly through electric doors
I wandered over to the medicine aisle
Upon seeing it my lips cracked a smile
I grabbed a bottle and a chaser to mix
I started coughing
So they'd think I was sick
They bought my story
And they sold me the goods
I went behind the store
And drank what I could
'Cause when you Robe (Robe Robe Robe)
The cherry flavored syrup
Has the taste to make you throw up
When you Robe (Robe Robe Robe)
Reality is hazy
And your mind is going crazy
When you Robe
I traveled over to the dance at the school
I saw some teachers
Started losing my cool
I started speaking in a language unknown
"Are you all right son?"
Said one shocked chaperone
'Cause when you Robe (Robe Robe Robe)
Anxiety is common
In a dose that's somewhat violent
When you Robe (Robe Robe Robe)
Your word interpretation
Takes an unforeseen vacation
When you Robe
I'm not a murderer!
Why don't you believe me?
I didn't sell your brother
Poison 'black beauties'
How can you think that
I'm the stranger Malloy?
I've been a resident since I was a boy
I'm not a dealer of
The drugs that he's taken
My only habit is a cold medication
I can't see clearly
And I can't stop the itching
Can't understand you
If you don't stop your bitching
I didn't kill your brother
And I didn't kill the other
But I Robed (Robe Robe Robe)
I need an overflowing glass
Of milk to overcome this rash
I didn't know (no no no)
That this drug invites disaster
As my heart keeps beating faster
Should I try (try try try)
To suppress this ugly panic?
My mind is going manic
Will I die (die die die)
If I try to hold my breath?
Why did I drink this liquid death?
Why did I Robe?
Red orbit body expander!

Sasquatch And Yeti
02:25
|
|||
SASQUATCH AND YETI
((( Narrator )))
Sasquatch and Yeti
Were both going steady
With two girls in the grade below
The foursome was made and so
They went to the school dance
Police at the entrance
Two boys overdosed on some drugs
No one knows where they came from
Sasquatch and Yeti
See their friend Robert
Cops armed and ready
To take him away to the prison
Sasquatch and Yeti
Spoke up and they said:
"He could not be the criminal
He hung out with us until seven
"It's seven-fifteen
There's no way in your dreams
That he's guilty of the crimes
Committed this evening"
Sasquatch and Yeti
Tell this lie
But their voices keep steady
Convincing the cops:
"He's not guilty"

Twin Sister Girlfriends
03:51
|
|||
TWIN SISTER GIRLFRIENDS
((( Narrator )))
The two boys and their steady girls
Broke up the confrontation at the Whirl
Their friend was wrongly accused
Of causing drug-related casualties
They said that Robert
Was with them before
He wasn't hanging out around the door
Convincing kids to try their luck
Ingesting poison 'black beauties'
He's not the stranger that they call Malloy
He's lived here since he was a little boy
He drinks cough syrup just to get high
What's the harm?
He only hurts himself to do it
It seems the kids that died
Remembered a name
The cops were looking for
Somebody to blame
They didn't recognize Robert
On his driver's permit
The dance is over but the night is long
They go to Yeti's and they hit the bong
There's nothing better than a foursome
Don't disturb it
Sasquatch and his girlfriend Syria
Yeti and his steady girl Siberia
The two twin sisters
Didn't want Robert around
They never like to spend time with him
The two boys and their steady girls
Continued celebrating after the Whirl
But Sasquatch took one hit too many
You should have seen him
Crawling up the walls
Inventing echoes in apartment halls
Searching for differences
But never finding any
Between Siberia and Syria
'Cause Syria looks equal to Siberia
They seem identical
Both outside and inside
Sasquatch and Yeti
Have the same taste in women
Twin sister girlfriends
Drug twisted weekends

Four Minutes To Ten To

|

FOUR MINUTES TO TEN TO
((( Sasquatch )))
It's four minutes to ten to!
It's two-forty-six in the morning
Fourteen minutes to go
Is the present warning
That my friend on the sofa provides
'Cause the bus stops running at three
But take a look at me, I'm alive!
But twenty-four minutes ago
I was close to death
It's four minutes to ten to!
At two-twenty-two I was fading
My girlfriend wanted to leave
But I thought that waiting
For the three o'clock bus was a plan
To stick to until I felt better
I took a bong hit too big for a man
It's twenty-four minutes later
And I'm feeling fine!
We decided to walk home
Beneath the moonlight
Because I suddenly felt fine
She said it's such a beautiful night
At four minutes to ten to
We say goodbye to those who stay
Forget the bus 'cause we're walking home
I never liked the bus anyway
It's four minutes to ten to…
It's three minutes to ten to…
It's two minutes to ten to…
It's one minute to ten to…
It's ten minutes to
Three in the morning today

Sideswiped From Behind

|

SIDESWIPED FROM BEHIND
((( Sasquatch )))
There's something wrong with her
Can't find her pulse
Her eyes wide open in disbelief
The body of my girlfriend Syria
Dead in the middle of the street
I can't believe I couldn't save her
I thought I could keep her secure
But now she lays beneath
The intersection lights
A sideswipe she could not endure
The car keeps driving
As she lays here on the ground
It fails to stop
It leaves her dead without a sound
Can't feel my legs
'Cause I've been crippled in the mind
My girlfriend Syria was
Sideswiped from behind
I filled out crime reports 'til sunrise
I never saw the license plate
The car was black with tinted windows
Never saw the driver
It turned left on Route 68
I've never seen it in that neighborhood
I've never seen it pass that way
Detective tells me to go home
And rest my tired eyes
But I can't see myself
Sleeping much today
I walk the streets alone
My Syria is dead
I'll go back to Yeti's
I won't put bullets in my head
I have to tell the twin
Her sister is no more
I hope I have the strength
To knock upon the door
My dear Siberia
Your sibling could not be saved
Her time ran out sometime
Before the light of day
Tonight I realized
How much you looked alike
Must fight obsession
You're with Yeti every night

Bongwater
03:33
|
|||
BONGWATER
((( Narrator )))
He likes to drink bongwater
It goes down good with his weed
And when he starts to get thirsty
Bongwater tends to his needs
At first the taste made him nauseous
But that did not last too long
Dry mouth no longer subdues him
He now drinks straight from the bong
And he finds
That he begins to lose his mind
The resin in the water
Sends a shiver down his spine
And he sits upon the sofa
And he's trying not to cry
But he can't stop thinking of her
And the day she waved goodbye
Goodbye
He used to sleep in her bedroom
He had no place of his own
But she was happy to have him
And then one night they walked home
And a car
Running through a red light
Ran into her
She tumbled across the pavement
Because the red light did not deter
The black car didn't touch him
And so he blames himself instead
Because he should have paid attention
But he didn't and now she's dead
She's dead
He likes to drink bongwater…
And he finds
That he begins to lose his mind
The resin in the water
Sends a shiver down his spine
And he sits upon the sofa
And he's trying not to cry
But he can't stop thinking of her
And the day she waved goodbye
Goodbye

SICK
((( Sasquatch )))
There's something wrong with me today
When I woke up I felt okay
But as the day grew long
That feeling went away
I took some pills to soothe my head
I should have shot myself instead
There is no better cure for pain
Than being dead
But I could never end it all
That's just one thing I couldn't do
There has to be a better remedy
But what I wish I knew
I couldn't sleep for seven hours
I tossed and turned
My body cowers on the sofa
Every chance I take
My best friend Yeti's not like me
He gets his exercise
And he keeps telling me:
"Get well for goodness' sake!"
But I can't seem to find the nerve
I'm just not ready to face the world
I'd rather stay depressed at Yeti's
'Cause I lost my steady girl
I feel so sick
I want to vanish in the air
But suicide by cyanide
Is much too much to bear
So I'll smoke three packs of cigarettes
Before the night is through
And drink myself to sleep
I kn-know there's n-nothing left to do
Doesn't matter 'cause it's true
There's something wrong with me tonight
When I woke up I felt all right
But as the night grew long
My pain grew outta sight
I tried to laugh, I cried instead
The same thought
Running through my head
Can I keep living now that Syria is dead?
But I can't answer yes or no
I'm still not ready to face the world
I'd love to run that race with Yeti
But I lost my steady girl
I feel so sick
I want to vanish in the air
But suicide by cyanide
Is much too much to bear
So I'll smoke three packs of cigarettes
Before the night is through
And drink myself to sleep
I kn-know there's n-nothing left to do
Doesn't matter 'cause it's true

|

OPPONENTS
((( Narrator )))
Approach the finish
Man running strong
Don't know synchro shotgun blasts
Weren't race alarm
He's not alone
They all misunderstood
The man and his opponents
Ran stronger than they should have
But they suddenly understand
There are far worse opponents at hand
Terrorism is intensely revealed
With two shotgun blasts
That probably killed both the victims
But they stand their ground
'Cause they've got spikes on their feet
They've been preparing to beat
Since the season began
The other men and the man
Far worse opponents at hand
When there's nowhere left to run to
You achieve what you can
The opponents pose a challenge
To an oft challenged man
With a union of his former opponents
Competition begins
But the killing continues
Competition ends and nobody wins
Except opponents in the stands

SURVIVING PIECES
((( Sasquatch )))
I have to see you soon
I'm going crazy
Wondering where are you
And can I be there too?
We're both in misery
Half of the foursome
Life and death should be
Uniting me and you
'Cause Yeti's gone like Syria
I have to see you soon Siberia
It seems the logical conclusion
Is to get together
A traffic accident
A fatal racetrack crowd attack
Two of our closest friends are gone
Your sister was my girl
Your boyfriend was my best friend
Why don't you accept where you belong?
The greatest girls in the whole wide world
Were torn apart
The morning after the Whirl
The greatest guys under sunny skies
A friendship violently terrorized
Two couples broken up
Surviving pieces should be joined
In hopes of mending shattered hearts
I'm glad to see you here
I feel so warm when you are nearby
Now you're right here, never part
'Cause Yeti's gone like Syria
I'm glad to see you here Siberia
I think we made the right decision
When we got together
The sunny skies still hurt my eyes
A bright reminder that our lovers died
I often think about the weather
The greatest girls in the whole wide world
Were torn apart
The morning after the Whirl
The greatest guys under sunny skies
A friendship violently terrorized
The two surviving pieces
Should be joined to mend the shatters
Together we both realize
How much life really matters

OBSESSED WITH THUNDERSTORMS
((( Sasquatch )))
I often think about the weather
It never rains when we're together
And yet we're both
Obsessed with thunderstorms
I'll be delighted when a rain cloud forms
It rained last week
When you were outta town
This morning I saw
Puddles on the ground
The only answer is to never part
It's just in case precipitation starts
Don't tell me that
The sun doesn't hurt when it shines
Don't tell me that
A cloud won't thunderstrike in the sky
Don't tell me that
A drought'll break out if you stay
Don't tell me that
The weather will be arid today
When you went to the local laundromat
To get yourself a pack of cigarettes
As you put your bills in the machine
It rained ten minutes, maybe fifteen
Don't tell me that
The sun doesn't hurt when it shines
Don't tell me that
A cloud won't thunderstrike in the sky
Don't tell me that
A drought'll break out if you stay
Don't tell me that
The weather will be arid today
Don't tell me how to feel

Disciples Of Malloy

|

DISCIPLES OF MALLOY
((( Sasquatch )))
There's no telling
When the rain is stopping
The storm has carried on for several days
But you left me
So I hope the thunder stays
We both love 'em
'Cause they block out sunlight
We love the thunderstorms
'Cause sunshine ends
The sun reminds us of
The days we lost our friends
There is no simple way to say I'm sorry
I just assumed that
You would want to love me
Your sister did
But you're not her at all
It all started with a hopeful glimmer
We got together 'cause it seemed so right
It all ended
'Cause the rain was outta sight
I tried calling but there was no answer
You haven't answered me
For several days
I have to find you
And I hope the thunder stays
I've never been to
Your apartment building
I fear there may be a link to the killings
Of our best friends
And the key might be Malloy
'Cause local girls and boys
Know his name
It seems Malloy is always to blame
But is Malloy for real?
Was he behind the wheel
Of the car that killed Syria dead?
Did he put bullets in Yeti's head?
Did he kill half the four?
Will he be killing more?
(killing more killing more killing
more killing more killing more killing)
How can we
Protect ourselves from danger?
'Cause Syria was taken out
The driver was aiming for her
And Yeti was blown away
By masked men at the race
Perhaps they were disciples of Malloy
The boys at the dance were
Killed by downers
They said Malloy gave them
The poison pills
The crazy thing about drugs
They sometimes kill
When me and Yeti
Told the cops that Robert
Was hanging with us
When the boys were found
We took a chance assuming
Robert's mind was sound
I have a feeling Robert
Knows who killed them
I fear there may be other killers like him
I fear Malloy has disciples to dispose
And no one knows
Who's bad and who's good
I'd prove that I was great if I could
I have to see you soon
This rainy afternoon
All we have to do is stick together
I know that we can trust each other now
Though everyone around
Could be disciples (disciples of Malloy)
I know we'll make it through somehow

ODESSA BUILDING
((( Sasquatch )))
The rain is stopping, you must be near
My destination becoming clear
Odessa Building, it looms ahead
My senses stricken with nameless dread
When suddenly I hear soft footsteps fall
A shadow moves up an alleyway
The shape approaches
But I stand my ground
I have no time for fear today
Approaching stranger is just a child
But his young eyeballs are black and wild
Carved on switchblade: the name Malloy
Possession loaned to this f----d up boy
He tries to stab me but I steal the blade
The young disciple runs away
I try to chase him but he runs too fast
Perhaps we'll meet again someday
Odessa Building is where you live
You're hiding out like a fugitive
Odessa Building is where you are
I sense it strongly, I see the car
That took my Syria away from me
I know you miss your sister too
My dear Siberia
I've never seen your place
I hope you're safe, I'll rescue you
Black car parking space reserved
The plate is nameless but I'm unnerved
'Cause someone painted the letter M
This reservation belongs to him
The crimson M is writ in fingerpoint
An M in chalk is on the door
To your apartment building I've arrived
If you're not on three, I'll walk up to four

Superintendent's Son
04:08
|

SUPERINTENDENT'S SON
((( The Superintendent )))
I am the Superintendent
Of the Odessa Apartments
I have a place in the basement
It's safer under the pavement
I fix the first, second, third floors
But I'm afraid of the number four
It's one and three which is thirteen
The very thought makes me
Weak in the knees
When I was younger than my son
I lived on four and I fell from
A broken window that I made
I never wanted to defenestrate
I have a fear of falling from high places
I'm happy trapped in
Claustrophobic spaces
I'll walk up to three
To walk up one more would be
Too great a shock it would kill me
Know only three of the tenants
Of the four main apartments
Not counting mine in the basement
It's only me and my son and it's safe
The first and second don't interest me
But I'm intrigued by the girl in three
And I've yet to meet
The man on the top floor
'Cause I'm afraid of the number four
He's Mister M but I don't know
Who he is or what the M stands for
If my son knows he keeps it a secret
When I ask he changes the subject
But I'm just glad
He'll fix-it on the fourth floor
He'll even fix-it on the roof above four
I'll fix one, two, three
But four he'll fix-it for me
Son of the Superintendent
My son's in love with the girl in three
My only hope is it's meant to be
Like me with my wife before she died
It was so long ago but we still cry for her
But not so much since three moved in
She's all he ever talks about
In his sleep, to his dreams, not to me
Siberia is the girl's name
My son he goes to the same school
The girl she looks like a cool one
Just like the Superintendent's son

DEFENESTRATION
((( The Superintendent )))
Everybody gather 'round
I'll tell the story of what you found
The lifeless body before your eyes
This murder victim fell from the skies
His fate was violent as you can see
He left an exit not meant to be
Now I know you wonder just how I know
This broken man was
Pushed out the window
Defenestration
The fourth floor rented in late July
It's mid-October, look: someone died
His face disfigured on impact
So I can't place him
He hit the pavement outside the window
Of my home the basement
I'm not a suspect, my doctor knows
The police believe me
Because my history shows
I have a problem above the ground
This fear of falling four stories down
Defenestration
The police went up there to investigate
But I can't make it so I'll sit and wait
And wonder who is this broken body
Could it be my son, could it be Robert?
We'll know the rest when the police return
If I spoke a lesson
Well I hoped you learned
So everybody look out below
You never know when someone could be
Pushed out the window
Defenestration

Instructions

INSTRUCTIONS
((( Robert )))
I found instructions on the bottle
Stating exactly where to go
And what to do
I understand that it's my mission
But I'm perplexed with
What it has to do with you
So I confront you with a handgun
Still these instructions
Fail to make some kind of sense
I've always tried to separate them
But now my life and chore
Collide with truculence
And I feel like setting the
Handgun on the table
And collapsing in the
Warmth of your touch
But I have never dared to
Ignore instructions, no
And I'm worried that
I'm thinking too much
About the warmth of your touch
I know I've made some bad decisions
But when I Robe
I can't begin to understand
I'm one of many odd disciples
We drink cough syrup
And we murder on command
I was lying when I said that
I didn't kill our classmates
At the school dance
With some poison pills
But I swear it's the truth that
I didn't shoot your boyfriend
Or run down your sister
I swear I can't account for those kills
I'm in love with you still
Siberia I can't kill you
If I die tonight, will you remember me?
I would if I was you
((( Narrator )))
As Robert sets it on the table
Malloy steps from the shadows
Grabs the handgun's grip
And aims it at his former minion
He fires a bullet
Through his head and teeth and lips
Robert falls down dead
In a pool of red expanding
And Siberia she faints to the floor
As Malloy shifts the aim of the gun
To her unconscious body
Sasquatch kicks his foot
Through the door
He charges the man
Who instructed teenage killers
To lay waste to classmates
Families and friends
Sasquatch pushes Malloy out the window
Down four stories
And it looks as if the killings will end

SOMETHING LEFT BEHIND
((( Sasquatch )))
You're still in love with your ex-boyfriend
I'm still in love with my ex-girl
But both our exes left forever
They lived their lives and left the world
I know you miss your sweet twin sister
I'm broken down on my best friend
The four of us is just a memory
The two of them have reached the end
The two of us are still alive
Just barely half the four survived
Can we be strong enough to live our lives
Without our first loves?
Together happy 'til we die?
I know you think about me sometimes
You know I think about you too
And just because we lost our loves
The truest ones we knew
That doesn't mean I can't love you
The question is can you love me?
Can you believe we're meant to be?
True love can often be unkind
But if you try
You'll always find there's
Something left behind
