The basement's empty
But the memory remains
Of a young girl who was left alone
For 86 days
In a room without light
A prison with the absence of sight
The sunlight shines through
The broken basement door
And I glance around the brightened room
And wander the floor
There's a bed on the ground
The mattress where her body was found
She slept alone on that bed
All through the night
And she awoke just the same
The dirty sheets are stained red
From her suicide
She said Alone was her name
The indentation of her shape on the bed
Was a cradle for her body
When they found her there dead
Near a small jagged stone
An object sharp enough to murder Alone
She died before the opposition of age
Just a young beautiful maiden
In an underground cage
But she took her own life
Before the town could put an end
To her strife
She slept alone on that bed
All through the night
And she awoke just the same
The dirty sheets are stained red
From her suicide
She said Alone was her name
She came to visit
And she cried on my shoulder
Her life was cut short
She was 16 years old
Although the world isn't right
I hope her spirit comes to visit tonight
A boy from outer space
A girl named Alone
We're a true match made in Heaven
We're an etching in stone
But she didn't survive
Can there be love between
The dead and alive?
I must be out of my head to fall in love
With someone out of the past
An angel back from the dead
And me from above
Could such a love affair last?
